Your computer accounting training is a business expense.

Of course check with your accountant if you have any doubts, but you can claim the costs of our course fee, your travel to Napier and (reasonable) accommodation and meals while you are here, all off your tax. You can claim the GST too.

There's a lot to do here...

Napier is a fun city with lots to do and lots to see.  It is renowned for its 1930s Art Deco architecture - a legacy of the rebuilding programme following the devastating 1931 earthquake.  The Napier Art Deco Trust is a very good place to start your visit, just along from the Municipal Theatre.

There are the attractions on Marine Parade with its seaside walk and stately Norfolk pines, Ocean Spa hot pools and swimming complex, the Hawkes Bay Museum, the National Aquarium of New Zealand, and the dolphins and seals at Marineland of New Zealand. 

There's a thriving local café scene and many fine restaurants, nearby wineries (including New Zealand's oldest), local fresh produce and international tourist attractions like the nearby gannet colony at Cape Kidnappers.  A trip up Bluff Hill is well worth the effort as is a visit to the harbour side suburb of Ahuriri.

Accommodation tips

Accommodation in Napier is usually readily available - there are a number of motels in close proximity to the training centre, including the Anchorage, the Blue Water Hotel, the Rocks Motor Lodge, Marineland Motel and the Fairley Motor Lodge.  All are within a couple of minutes walking distance, and just a very short taxi ride to the airport or to the centre of town.

Accommodation closer to downtown and the beach front includes the Shoreline Motel, the Pebble Beach Motor Inn, Beach Front Motel, Edgewater Motor Lodge, Motel de la Mer and the Quality Inn.
