Prerequisites for Computer Accounting
Anyone can do their books on computer...
If you are running your own business now (or you plan to soon) then you are smart enough to master computer accounting.
- You're NOT too old, too dumb, too busy or too hopeless with figures!
- Your hands are not too big - and neither are your fingers!
You can tackle computer accounting, and you may even find you enjoy doing it.

You do not need any skills in accounting (and you don't have to like it!) - you'll learn all you need in our training.
It will help you to set up your own accounts if you have a working knowledge of your club, business, or farm from a financial perspective. And there are some bits and pieces you should be able to lay your hands on (like bank statements, annual accounts etc), but that’s it.
You certainly don’t need to be an accountant, and you don't need to be a whiz with figures.
But it's best if you're up-to-date...
If you have been operating your business for a while, and you don't have a good manual accounting system in place, you can still get computer accounting going, but you really should deal with those old (bad) habits!
Your computer can automate your accounting system, but it does need something to automate.
By getting everything up to date, you will be putting in place systems for your computer to work with, and you are getting used to them. You'll have a nice tidy place to start from. Yes you can start without it, and yes, you can go back and do the old stuff once you are up and running. But it is a lot harder...
